Student Mobility and Construction of New Dormitories Discussed in Kyrgyzstan
A meeting focused on the development of interregional student mobility and the expansion of higher education infrastructure was held at the Administration of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic. The meeting was chaired by the Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers and Head of the Presidential Administration of the Kyrgyz Republic Adylbek Kasymaliev.
During the meeting, the Minister of Science, Higher Education and Innovation Gulzat Isamatova presented a program aimed at strengthening interregional student mobility. The initiative предусматривает allocation of approximately 8,000 student quotas and the construction of new student dormitories across different regions of the country.
According to the presented plans, nine modern dormitories with a total capacity of more than 7,000 students are expected to be built in five regions of Kyrgyzstan, as well as in the cities of Bishkek and Osh. The project aims to improve living conditions for students and expand access to quality higher education.
It was also noted that the relevant ministries have already completed preparatory work, including the selection of land plots, engineering surveys, and the development of preliminary architectural designs.
In addition, participants discussed expanding the autonomy of higher educational institutions and introducing educational loan programs for students. Following the meeting, several tasks and directives were assigned to the relevant government bodies.
