Minister of Health of the Kyrgyz Republic Damir Osmonov spoke about the key directions for the development of the healthcare system in the near future. Special attention will be given to disease prevention, maternal and child health, and the digitalization of the healthcare system.
According to the minister, one of the main tasks is to shift from treating complications to early detection and prevention of diseases. The priorities include public health education, vaccination, screening programs, and prevention of cardiovascular diseases.
Maternal and child healthcare has also been identified as an important priority. Plans include improving the monitoring system for pregnant women, introducing online registration, and enhancing the quality of perinatal care in all regions of the country.
The Ministry of Health is also paying special attention to the digitalization of pharmaceutical supply systems. In the near future, the development of an electronic medicine tracking system is planned, which will help improve transparency in procurement and strengthen control over the distribution of medicines.
The minister also emphasized the need to improve the quality of medical education, strengthen human resources, and support healthcare workers, especially in the regions. According to him, the development of a modern healthcare system is impossible without training qualified specialists and implementing modern educational approaches.
The Ministry of Health stressed that the ongoing reforms are aimed at improving the accessibility and quality of medical care, while the main indicator of the system’s effectiveness should be the reduction of preventable mortality.
