On April 10, 2026, the President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sadyr Japarov took part in a ceremonial foundation-laying event for 10 secondary schools in the city of Ош as part of his working visit to Osh region. The construction is financed by the Stabilization Fund of the Kyrgyz Republic.

In his opening remarks, the President emphasized the crucial role of education in national development, noting that knowledge and science are the foundation of progress. He also referred to the legacy of the renowned thinker Жусуп Баласагын.

Currently, more than 100,000 students study in 70 public schools in Osh, while their designed capacity is about 46,000 places. This means schools operate at more than double their intended capacity.

The President highlighted the urgent need to construct new schools to prevent further decline in education quality. Upon completion of 15 schools, the shortage of student places is expected to decrease by 20–22%, improving overall learning conditions.
