OMMU is preparing for the TOEIC exam
On April 3, the staff of OIMU took part in a Zoom conference on the TOEIC test, organized by the authorized testing center Learning World. The event was initiated by the Vice-Rector for the State Language and Social Affairs of OIMU, Associate Professor Ch.M. Mukasheva.
TOEIC (Test of English for International Communication) is a standardized test used to assess the knowledge, skills, and abilities in English for business communication in an international environment. During the conference, it was noted that the structure of the TOEIC test is similar in many ways to that of the TOEFL exam. However, the main difference lies in their purpose. TOEFL is designed for academic goals — admission to foreign educational institutions, participation in scientific symposia and conferences. In contrast, TOEIC is intended to evaluate the English proficiency of individuals who are expected to work in an international setting. The exam helps determine a person’s ability to effectively conduct presentations, business meetings, and negotiations in English.
A TOEIC certificate is essential for those who wish to build a successful career, including in the field of international-level education.
