The Vice-Rector of Osh IMU, Associate Professor Sakibaev K.Sh., actively publishes articles in both international and national scientific journals, participates in international conferences, and coordinates research projects aimed at developing medical science in Kyrgyzstan.

Reaching 5th place in the Hirsch index ranking is the result of many years of work, continuous research activity, and a strong commitment to academic quality.

Osh International Medical University continues to actively develop its scientific direction, engaging students and faculty members in research projects. Improving citation rates and the Hirsch index is not only a personal achievement for each researcher but also an important element of the university’s image in the international academic community.

        What is the Hirsh Index?

The Hirsch index (h-index) is a metric used to assess a scholar’s scientific activity and impact. It reflects how many of the author’s articles have been cited at least h times. For example, if a scientist has an h-index of 10, it means they have 10 papers that have each been cited at least 10 times.

This indicator is widely used by academic databases such as Scopus, Google Scholar, and Web of Science, and it is considered one of the key markers of research reputation in the academic world.

Osh IMU is proud of its scientific staff and strives to make academic productivity and research quality top priorities in university life.
