OIMU cooperates with the Scientific and Technical Center MEDASS
As part of an academic visit to Moscow from April 23 to 27, the Vice-Rector for Academic and Scientific Affairs of OIMU, Associate Professor K.Sh. Sakibaev, paid a working visit to the Scientific and Technical Center "MEDASS" and the Russian State University of Physical Education, Sport, Youth and Tourism (SCOLIPE).
"MEDASS" LLC has been developing instruments and techniques for more than 30 years based on measuring the electrical resistance of human tissues - bioimpedance analyzers. These devices assess lipid, protein, and water metabolism, as well as metabolic rate. They are widely used in dietology, hemodialysis, intensive care, rehabilitation, body shaping, fitness testing, public health screenings, and monitoring athletes' physical condition. During the meeting with the General Director of MEDASS, D.M. Nikolaev, they discussed scientific and methodological cooperation and potential training of our staff in operating the bioimpedance equipment.
It is also worth noting that OIMU plans to establish a morphological laboratory — a center for auxology and anthropometric standardization. This project will be implemented in cooperation with the Department of Anatomy and Biological Anthropology of SCOLIPE (headed by Associate Professor T.G. Grichanova). As part of the initiative, a meeting was held with Vice-Rector for Research and Project Activities O.M. Mikhaylova, and drafts of cooperation agreements were prepared. SCOLIPE is the largest higher educational institution in Russia and abroad in the field of physical education and sports. It was included in the 2nd league of the 2024 National Aggregate Ranking (Top 200 Russian universities), becoming the only university under the Ministry of Sports of the Russian Federation to be included.
