Preventive Lecture for First-Year Students Held at OIMU

On April 16, 2026, Osh International Medical University hosted a preventive lecture aimed at promoting a responsible attitude toward health and improving legal awareness among students.

The event was organized for first-year students with the participation of representatives of the law enforcement agencies of the Kyrgyz Republic. The speakers included representatives of the Service for Combating Illegal Drug Trafficking of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic:
Police Lieutenant Colonel, employee of the Department for Prevention and Public Interaction — Gulmira Zhuzubaliyevna Zhapakova,
as well as Junior Inspector-K9 handler of the Canine Center, Police Ensign — Nurmakhamed Aidarali uulu.

During the lecture, the speakers discussed the harmful effects of наркотических substances on human health and mental well-being, especially among young people. Special attention was given to legal issues, including penalties предусмотренные by the legislation of the Kyrgyz Republic for possession, use, and distribution of drugs.

The participants were also introduced to the practical work of law enforcement agencies. The K9 specialist demonstrated the role of service dogs in detecting prohibited substances, which attracted great interest from students.

The lecture was conducted in an interactive format, allowing students to ask questions and receive detailed answers.

The administration of OIMU expresses its gratitude to the representatives of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic for their contribution to student education and prevention efforts.
