Japanese delegation visits Osh international medical university

On February 9, 2026, Osh International Medical University welcomed a delegation from Japan as part of strengthening international cooperation. The visit marked an important step toward developing joint research initiatives in healthcare and expanding academic partnerships.

The delegation included representatives of Juntendo University (Tokyo, Japan):

  1. Professor Motoyuki Yuasa — Head of the Department of Global Medical Research;

  2. PhD, Associate Professor Ishtiaq Ahmad — Department of Global Medical Research.

During the meetings, the Japanese guests expressed interest in opportunities for internships for local professionals and in launching joint projects to prevent and control non-communicable diseases in the region. The parties exchanged views on research priorities and possible formats of collaboration.

As a result of the discussions, the sides outlined a preliminary plan for implementing joint research projects and agreed on the next steps for further cooperation.

“This visit confirms our commitment to integrating into the global educational and research community,” the university administration noted, emphasizing that cooperation with Japan opens access to future technologies for OIMU students and faculty.
