International Scientific and Practical Conference Dedicated to the 80th Anniversary of Rakhmanbek Toychuev
On December 17, 2025, the International Scientific and Practical Conference
“Current Issues of Medical and Biological Sciences and Education” was held, dedicated to the 80th anniversary of Rakhmanbek Mamatkadyrovich Toychuev, an outstanding figure in science and healthcare, Honored Worker of Science of the National Academy of Sciences of the Kyrgyz Republic, Honored Worker of Healthcare of the Kyrgyz Republic, Candidate of Medical Sciences.
Osh International Medical University acted as a co-organizer of the conference together with:

National Academy of Sciences under the President of the Kyrgyz Republic,

Research Institute of Medical and Biological Problems of the Southern Branch of NAS KR,

Osh State University,
-
Osh Regional Scientific and Medical Society of Anatomists, Histologists, and Embryologists (NMSAHE).
The first part of the conference — the opening ceremony and plenary session — took place at Osh State University. During the opening ceremony, the Rector of OIMU, R.M. Dzhumaev, congratulated Rakhmanbek Toychuev on behalf of the university and solemnly announced the conferment of the title Honorary Professor of Osh International Medical University.
A significant event of the ceremony was the official announcement of the first issue of the OIMU scientific journal — “Journal of Human Biology and Clinical Medicine.” Vice-Rector of OIMU K.Sh. Sakibaev noted that the inaugural issue is dedicated to the outstanding scientist R.M. Toychuev.
At the plenary session, B.T. Abdimomunova, Head of the Department of Clinical Disciplines at OIMU, presented a scientific report entitled
“A Rare Case of Tetanus in an Adult.”
The conference continued with sectional sessions. OIMU faculty members delivered high-level scientific and review presentations, many of which were awarded First, Second, and Third Degree Diplomas.
The 6th section of the conference, dedicated to student research, was held at Osh International Medical University. A coffee break was organized for students, after which they were divided into three sections. Each section was chaired by a presidium consisting of an OIMU faculty member and a representative of an invited university.
All participants received certificates of participation, and students who presented the best research papers were awarded First, Second, and Third Degree Diplomas. Distinguished OIMU students included:
