ОЭАМУ эл аралык эне тил күнүн белгиледи
The International Mother Language Day was celebrated in a solemn atmosphere at Osh International Medical University. February 21 is the International Mother Language Day, which UNESCO has been celebrating since 1999. Its main goal is to preserve the diversity of languages worldwide. The celebration of this day is a reassessment of the cultural diversity and linguistic richness of different peoples of the world.
In honor of the International Mother Language Day, on February 21, a cultural event was held in the Grand Hall of OIMU. The event was organized with the participation of the university administration, curators, and students of all courses from various ethnic groups from near and far abroad. Students presented prepared presentations, performed folk songs, and staged theatrical performances, showcasing the culture and traditions of different nations.
According to UNESCO, there are more than 7000 languages in the world, but many of them are endangered. Today, linguistic diversity, including the preservation of native languages of different ethnic groups, is of great importance to us.
