Physical education and sports play a vital role in student life, promoting health and improving quality of life. Universities must provide opportunities for athletic activities and foster a culture of sports.

   In May, OIMU’s leadership, including Rector Assoc. Prof. R. Jumaev, inspected the construction progress of a new football pitch.

Key details:

• Construction began on April 18, 2025, at Kokum Biy 74, adhering to international standards.
• Phase 1 included land leveling, obstacle removal, and drainage system installation (critical for durability and all-weather playability).
• Pitch dimensions: 20x40 meters (ideal for amateur matches).
• Features:
  • Artificial turf (player-friendly, shock-absorbent, and durable).
  • Perimeter fencing.
  • Anti-slip surface outside the field.
  • Night lighting for evening matches.
• Completion is scheduled for late July 2025.

This project aims to create a modern sports facility for:

✔ University and community sports events.
✔ Promoting active lifestyles among locals.

The new pitch will expand OIMU’s sports infrastructure, significantly enhancing student well-being!
