OIMU Teams Win 3rd Places at the Republican Olympiad
On March 1, 2026, a team from Osh International Medical University won 3rd place at the Republican Student Olympiad in Clinical Immunology and Immunoprophylaxis, dedicated to the World Immunity Day.
The Olympiad was held offline as part of the 10th International Congress “Immunology and Immunoprophylaxis 2026: Innovations, Strategies, Horizons of Development”. The event was organized by the Department of Epidemiology and Immunology of Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University named after the First President of the Russian Federation B.N. Yeltsin in cooperation with the Jalal-Abad International University. The Olympiad took place on March 1, 2026 at 08:00 at the following venue: Manas city, 24 Kurmanbek Street.
The competition brought together students from medical universities and aimed to popularize knowledge in immunology, increase students’ interest in academic and professional development, and provide opportunities to demonstrate their scientific and creative potential.
OIMU was represented by two teams:
-
a Russian-speaking team consisting of local students and students from neighboring countries;
-
an English-speaking team consisting of international students from far-abroad countries.
The teams were supervised by Begimai Abdimomunova, Head of the Department of Clinical Disciplines, and Elnura Nishankulova, Lecturer of the Department of Clinical Disciplines.
The Olympiad included several stages where participants demonstrated both theoretical knowledge and practical skills:
-
a creative team presentation (introductory performance);
-
a quiz (including crossword-style tasks);
-
a home assignment — a short performance on “The Development of Immunology in the 19th–20th Centuries”;
-
a practical task.
We congratulate the OIMU teams and their supervisors on this strong result and wish them further success and new achievements!
