STUDENT SENATE

Osh International Medical University

The Student Senate of Osh International Medical University is an active body of student self-government that represents the interests of students, ensures their participation in university life, and promotes interaction between students and the university administration. The Senate unites active students of the university and aims to develop the educational, social, cultural, and sports environment, as well as to foster leadership and organizational skills among students.

Goals of the Student Senate

• representing and protecting the rights and interests of university students;
• participating in solving current issues related to the educational process and student life;
• creating conditions for the comprehensive development of students;
• strengthening communication between students, departments, dean’s offices, and university administration;
• developing initiative, responsibility, and social activity among students.

Tasks of the Student Senate

• organizing and coordinating the work of student self-government bodies;
• participating in the development and implementation of student projects and events;
• reviewing students’ appeals, suggestions, and complaints;
• assisting in solving academic and organizational issues;
• supporting international students and helping with their adaptation;
• organizing cultural, educational, sports, and social events;
• developing volunteer and charitable activities;
• providing informational support for student life at the university.

Structure of the Student Senate

The structure of the Student Senate includes the leadership, specialized committees, and representatives of the student community.

The Chairman of the Student Senate is Omkar Kanote. He provides overall leadership of the Senate, organizes meetings, represents students’ interests before the university administration, makes key decisions, and signs official documents.

The Vice-Chairpersons are Ashurova Makhruza and Hemlata D. They assist the Chairman, coordinate the work of committees, ensure interaction between the structural divisions of the Senate, and perform the Chairman’s duties in his absence.

The Secretary of the Senate is Mamatkalykova Zhumagul. She is responsible for document management, keeping meeting minutes, preparing agendas, maintaining documentation, and informing Senate members.

The Treasurer (Financial Coordinator) supervises the financial activities of the Senate, keeps records of expenses and income, and prepares reports on conducted events.

Committees of the Student Senate

The Academic Committee, headed by Pratik Ugale, deals with educational issues, academic performance, interaction with dean’s offices, as well as scheduling and examination matters.

The Cultural Committee, consisting of Garima N and Toichueva Marzhana, organizes cultural events, celebrations, competitions, festivals, and creative evenings.

The Sports Committee, represented by M. Abdullah and Karimov Yakhya, conducts sports competitions and promotes a healthy lifestyle among students.

The Social Committee, headed by Pratik Jadhav, provides support to students, organizes charity events, and assists international students with adaptation.

The Information / Media Committee, headed by Dnyaneshwar P, manages social media platforms, covers Senate activities, and publishes announcements and posters.

The Disciplinary and Ethics Committee, consisting of Lokesh and Kirti, reviews conflict situations and monitors compliance with internal regulations and standards of conduct.

The Decoration Committee, consisting of Janhavi Shelke and Prem C, is responsible for event decoration and creating a visual atmosphere.

Class leaders and faculty representatives ensure communication between students and the Senate, participate in meetings, deliver information, and collect students’ suggestions and appeals.

Main Areas of Activity

• representing students’ interests in academic, social, and extracurricular matters;
• supporting student initiatives and developing project activities;
• creating a favorable environment for students’ education, communication, and self-realization;
• promoting the strengthening of the university’s corporate culture and student involvement in university life.

The Student Senate of Osh International Medical University is an important part of the student self-government system, uniting active and инициативе students.
